Matthew Pollock
Pastor

Pastor Matt is a bit of a nomad, having lived all over the midwest. He sensed the call to vocational ministry early in life, and this was flushed out during his college years. He had the privilege to serve at Lafayette First Church of the Nazarene as Student Ministries Pastor for six and a half years before taking the assignment in Des Moines in April 2017. A graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary, Pastor Matt is passionate about creating good culture, planning worship services with intention, and constantly trying to gain a better understanding of how to be a faithful pastor in a world that is ever changing. He is married to a girl way out his league, Nicole, and has three boys: Britton, Miles, and Jaxton. Pastor Matt loves the Chicago Cubs, morning coffee, building Lego with his sons, watching hockey, running, and camping. He can be reached at matt@resurrectiondsm.org.

Howard Innis
Pastor of congregational Care

Pastor Howard and his wife Karen moved to Des Moines in 2016 after retiring for 37 years of pastoral ministry in the Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Howard is an Iowa boy through and through, having grown up here and spending most of his time pastoring in Iowa churches. After settling into retirement, they joined Des Moines First Church and became excited about the new thing God was up to in our church. In the Fall of 2019, Pastor Howard was called out of retirement to join the pastoral team as Pastor of Congregational Care. He volunteers his time in this role. Pastor Howard has three children and four grandsons. He enjoys spending time with his family, studying God’s Word, bicycling, and working on computers. Howard can be reached at howard@resurrectiondsm.org.

Marc Trembly
Pastor of Mission
and Administration

Pastor Marc, his wife Heather, and daughter Emory moved to Des Moines in January of 2021. He is a Chicago kid at heart growing up in the southwest suburbs and attending Olivet Nazarene University for his undergrad (Finance and Economics) and graduate (Pastoral Leadership) degrees. Marc has served in a variety of roles within the Church of the Nazarene including Worship Arts, Young Adults, Facility Management, and district NYI council while serving at Valparaiso Nazarene Church in northwest Indiana. He felt a call into ministry very early in life, but tried to negotiate that call by serving the church in volunteer capacities while working in the accounting field. In 2010 after serving overseas for three months on the mission field he felt strongly that he needed to be serving in a more hands on role within the church. In his free time he enjoys playing music, sports, and backpacking. Most of all Marc is passionate about helping people see how the Kingdom of God is breaking into the world around them, and how they fit into God’s plan of reconciling all creation. He can be reached at marc@resurrectiondsm.org.

Children’s ministry

In July 2023, Nicole was appointed the Director of Children’s Ministry. Nicole is passionate about embodying the way of Jesus by creating safe and inclusive environments for children. She is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. In addition to her responsibilities at the church, she is the lead teacher for the WEE Play Preschool at Westside Early Education. Nicole and Pastor Matt have been married for 15 years. Britton, Miles, and Jaxton keep them very busy with sports, band, and all the various activities with friends. Nicole and her family love to go camping. One of Nicole's favorite pass times is walking with friends! She can be reached at nicole@resurrectiondsm.org.
